October -December

2023

Yearly report: We praise the Lord for another busy and blessed year! After safely traveling to 14 states, we were blessed to be in eighty-one churches with nine missions conferences. Our prayer was to be in forty new churches and the Lord answered a specific prayer by allowing us to be in forty-eight new churches in 2023. We cannot emphasize enough how we give all glory to the Lord for allowing us to have such a full schedule.

October-December: The Lord also allowed us to have a full Fall/Winter schedule. We were in eighteen churches and had the opportunity to be in four missions conferences. We were blessed to present in six new churches during these months.

Family news: By now many of you will have heard that Amy’s mother, June Askey, passed away just a few days before Christmas. While we sorrow in her passing, we “sorrow not as those without hope”. We celebrate that mom Askey was saved, that the Lord gave her 86 years of life and 68 years of marriage. Mom Askey had a tremendous Christian testimony and will be sorely missed. On behalf of our family, we thank each of you that have been praying for her. We were constantly receiving notes of encouragement from so many of our supporting churches in the last few months. You will never know just how much of a blessing you have been to Amy and me.

Prayer Request: It is officially time to purchase a new vehicle as we have over 260,000 miles on our current van. We appreciate your prayers as we seek the Lord’s will regarding this next big purchase. We are continuing to ask prayer for safety as we travel, a vehicle that runs smoothly, good health, and for our schedule to be filled throughout the 2024 year. We already have forty-five meetings scheduled for 2024 with thirty-five of those churches being brand new to Worldview Ministries.

Praises: We praise the Lord that our van is running well and that the Lord has kept us safe on the roads as we have traveled over twenty-five thousand miles over the 2023 year. We are also overwhelmed and thanking the Lord for the tremendous response to Worldview Ministries by the many churches who have given to Worldview Ministries in the last year.

July-September

2023

Report: Our family had the opportunity to be in nineteen churches during the months of July, August, and September. We praise the Lord that eight of these churches were new to WorldView Ministries. Our meetings brought us through Ohio and Florida. This year, I will have had the privilege to preach seven missions conferences, as well as a three-day youth rally, a preacher’s fellowship, and a Christian school chapel.

Project Updates: - Runyankore Project (Uganda) We have begun some back-translation for various portions of the OT. This is one of our final checking steps. We anticipate continuing this for the next several months as we work toward completion.

Persia Project (Armenia) We are blessed to report a recent encounter with a family of six who have come to Christ. Discipleship has begun and will be a long process. Please pray for Nathan & Alicia to have wisdom as they seek to help this family as there are many cultural and religious difficulties to deal with. And please pray that more families from this target people group will be saved.

Family News: We are so excited to report the birth of our very first grandchild. The Lord blessed Bill and Charissa with a healthy baby boy - Liam Harrison Fennell VII (July 16 at 3:21 am – eight pounds, three ounces; twenty-one inches long). We rejoice with them in the Lord’s blessings upon their family. We were also blessed to have the opportunity to spend time with them for a few weeks while we had meetings near them in July.

Prayer Request: We have a special prayer request – Amy’s mother, June Askey, has been diagnosed with cancer. She begins treatments soon and we are asking for prayer for divine healing. As always, we are asking prayer for safety as we travel, a vehicle that runs smoothly, good health, and for a full schedule. While we are thankful for the first six months of 2024 being scheduled, we are praying for a full 2024 calendar.

April-June

2023

Report: Our family had the opportunity to be in twenty-nine churches during the months of April through June. We praise the Lord that twenty-two of these churches were new to WorldView Ministries. Our meetings brought us through Alabama, Colorado, Arizona, California, Idaho, Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania. I was also grateful to preach a four-day missions conference in May. I am always humbled by and grateful for every single church we have been privileged to be in.

Western Trip: We want to thank all of you who prayed for our meetings out west. During the months of March and April we made the, almost 9,000 mile, journey to the West Coast and back. The Lord allowed us to present WorldView Ministries in nineteen churches in seven states and Mexico. In addition to making some wonderful new friends, we were overwhelmed with the tremendous response to WorldView Ministries and the great need for Scripture translation. During this seven-week trip, the Lord blessed us tremendously by allowing every service to be scheduled. We are so appreciative of all nineteen pastors who scheduled us to be in their churches. During our travels, we were able to take advantage of many beautiful sight-seeing opportunities: The Alamo, the Painted Desert, the Rocky Mountains, Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe and Yellowstone National Park. The scenery was breath-taking and we took hundreds of photos.

Liangmai (India) Project Update: For several weeks now, there has been great chaos in Manipur. What started as a tribal conflict, quickly spilled over into religious persecution. The Meitei tribals have primarily targeted the Kuki tribals with violence, rape and murder. Recent reports state that more than 100 have been killed and more than 40,000 displaced as hundreds of homes and over 300 churches have been burned to the ground. Please pray for our team. Although the violence has not reached their villages, as a precaution, we have relocated them to a different state so they can focus on the work.

Family news: In May, we were blessed to see our second son Drew get married to Tiffany Fredericks. We had the whole family together for a few days for the wedding and enjoyed that time immensely. We are so happy and so grateful for the Lord’s blessings in Drew and Tiff's lives.

January-March

2023

Report: We were thankful to have a busy winter. The Lord allowed me to preach twenty-seven times in seventeen churches. Six of these opportunities were missions conferences. It is always a blessing to have the privilege to preach on the topic of the Great Commission and the great need regarding unreached people groups. I was thrilled to be a part of an adoption (for an unreached people group) missions conference at Victory Baptist Church in Corydon, IA. I believe every church in America should consider adopting a Bibleless people group.

Family news: Amy, Cooper, and I were able to go to India in February with Dr. Ken Fielder and two other pastors.  This was Worldview’s 12th annual pastors conference and it was a blessing to be back on campus and reconnect with the student body. We had a total of 12 general sessions over the three days with a combined crowd each day of roughly 400 students and pastors. This was the first time Amy and Cooper have traveled with me overseas. The Lord blessed by allowing us to have a wonderful experience together and for bringing us back home, safe and sound.

Project Update:  We are excited to announce that the Asang Khongso (Myanmar) New Testament is in its final phase. We praise the Lord that the formatting process has begun and that it is being prepared to go to printing. Once formatting is finalized, we expect a print & ship time of 8-10 weeks. Because of the continuing chaos in Myanmar, it may prove to be difficult to get the Scriptures into the country. Please pray for the safety and security of all those who will be involved.

Prayer Request: We would ask you to pray specifically for our trip out west. We currently are at the beginning of a seven week, eighteen church, nine-thousand-mile trip. This trip will bring us to Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, Colorado, Arizona, California, Mexico, and Idaho. Because seventeen of the eighteen churches are brand new to Worldview Ministries, we are praying that God’s people would respond enthusiastically to the great need for Scripture translation. In addition, we are continuing to ask prayer for safety as we travel, a vehicle that runs smoothly, good health and for our schedule to be filled throughout the 2023 year. We only need three more meetings to have a full 2023 calendar.

October -December

2022

Yearly report: We praise the Lord for another busy and blessed year! 2022 was one of our busiest years to date with Worldview Ministries. After safely traveling to 20 states, we were blessed to be in eighty-four churches with thirteen missions conferences. Our prayer was to be in thirty-five new churches and the Lord answered a specific prayer by allowing us to be in forty-four new churches in 2022. We cannot overemphasize how we truly give all honor and glory to the Lord for allowing us to have such a full schedule.

October-December: The Lord also allowed us to have a full Fall/Winter schedule. We were in sixteen churches and had the opportunity to be in five missions conferences. We were blessed to present in seven new churches in addition to filling the pulpit for four churches.

Family news: Amy and I are so thankful and excited to announce that Bill and Charissa are expecting their first child (our first grandchild) and that Drew and Tiffany (Fredericks) were engaged in December! We were so blessed to have had all of our family home for Christmas. We are always so grateful for the chance to make more wonderful memories together.

Praises: We praise the Lord that our van is running well and that the Lord has kept us safe on the roads as we have traveled over thirty thousand miles over the 2022 year. We are also thanking the Lord for the many churches who have given to Worldview Ministries. We have observed churches supporting a Worldview project just as they would support a monthly missionary as well as churches sponsoring a specific book of the New Testament for a project.

Prayer Request: We are continuing to ask prayer for safety as we travel, a vehicle that runs smoothly, good health, and for our schedule to be filled throughout the 2023 year. We already have thirty-seven meetings scheduled for 2023 with twenty-six of those churches being brand new to Worldview Ministries. We are also asking prayer for our upcoming trip to India. I am excited that Amy and Cooper will be traveling with us.

July-September

2022

Report: Our family had the opportunity to be in nineteen churches during the months of July, August, and September. We praise the Lord that fourteen of these churches were new to WorldView Ministries. Our meetings brought us through Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Praises: We were blessed to be in four missions conferences and missions emphasis Sundays. This year, I will have had the privilege to preach six missions conferences. I am always humbled to have this great responsibility. It is such a joy to be a part of these conferences and observe, as churches collaborate and communicate on what more can be done to see the Gospel spread throughout the world.

We were blessed to see an individual trust Christ as Lord and Savior in one of our meetings. Also, in a recent missions conference, we were excited to hear of a believer surrendering their life to missions. We have also observed numerous monetary gifts given to Worldview Ministries, specifically to be used for Scripture translation.

When I started the year, I had a goal to be in thirty-five new churches in 2022. I whole-heartedly believe that every church in America should be aware of and directly involved with the propagation of the Scriptures for unreached people groups. So far, we are on track for having eighty-two preaching services in 2022, and just recently, the Lord allowed us to schedule our forty-fourth brand new church. It is a daily prayer request that the Lord would allow us to fill our schedule and that the Lord would bring us to the churches that He would have us to be in. We are thankful for a completely full schedule through the end of 2022.

Family News: Bill and Charissa finished up their college repping job at PCC and are now on staff at a Christian school in Bradenton Florida. Gabe is now a freshman at PCC and is enjoying college life while getting involved with as many activities as possible. Our traveling group is now down to three, and Amy and I are so enjoying one on one time with Coop!

Prayer Request: We are specifically asking prayer for safety as we travel, a vehicle that runs smoothly, good health, and for a full schedule. While we are thankful for the first six months of 2023 being scheduled, we are praying for a full 2023 calendar.

April-June

2022

Report: Our family had the opportunity to be in twenty-four churches during the months of April through June.  We praise the Lord that seven of these churches were new to WorldView Ministries. Our meetings brought us through Ohio, Florida, Alabama, and Virginia. Thankfully, the summer months often give me many opportunities to fill pulpits for vacationing pastors, where I am able to preach as well as to give WorldView updates. I was also grateful to preach a four-day missions conference in May. I am always humbled by and grateful for every single church we have been privileged to be in.

WorldView Conference: Our WorldView annual meeting was held June 8-10 in Nashville, Indiana. We had a total of 71 in attendance and it was a special blessing to have students from several different colleges. It was a joy to be around many pastors, laymen and Bible translators who are also excited about Bible translation and burdened about the unreached people groups of the world. I always leave these meetings encouraged and with a renewed excitement to have a part in the propagation of the Scriptures for those who are still waiting for the Bible in their heart language.

Family news: Amy was grateful to be given the opportunity to speak and share her testimony in three mother-daughter conferences. Gabe graduated from high school and is planning on attending Pensacola Christian College in August. I was thrilled to have the privilege to preach his graduation ceremony, and we were all blessed to see many of our church family and friends attend his graduation party.

Prayer Request: We are very grateful for the “prayer warriors” that are constantly lifting up our family in prayer. We are specifically asking prayer for safety as we travel, good health, and for our schedule to be filled throughout the 2022 year.

Blessing: We always praise the Lord for a smooth-running van, and for continued safety on the roads as we travel. We truly praise the Lord for His many blessings and for how He continues to faithfully meet our every need.

January-March

2022

Report:  We are thankful to have had one of our busiest winters, as of yet. The Lord allowed me to preach over thirty times in twenty-one churches. Two of these opportunities were missions conferences. It is always a blessing to have the privilege to preach on the topic of the Great Commission and the great need regarding unreached people groups. Also, our family was very excited to participate in our first teen missions revival - “Teen Impact 2022”, held at Harmony Baptist Church in Marengo, Ohio.

Western Trip:  We were so thrilled and grateful to be able to take our very first family trip out West. During the months of February and March we made the, almost 9,000 mile, journey to the West Coast and back. The Lord allowed us to be in nineteen states and to present WorldView Ministries in thirteen churches. In addition to making some wonderful new friends, we were overwhelmed with the tremendous response to WorldView Ministries and the great need for Scripture translation. During this five-week trip, the Lord blessed us tremendously by allowing every service to be scheduled. We are so appreciative of all thirteen pastors who scheduled us to be in their churches.

Family news: One of the blessings of our trip was that Gabriel and Cooper were able to experience the West for the first time. We made some wonderful memories and are still talking about the fun we had. During our travels, we were able to take advantage of many beautiful sight-seeing opportunities: The St. Louis Arch, Mount Rushmore, Redwood National Forest, The Golden Gate Bridge, and The Grand Canyon. The scenery was breath-taking and we took hundreds of photos.

Schedule: We are scheduled to be in ten churches during April and May, with only one Sunday still to schedule. We will be traveling to Florida, Alabama, and Virginia. Currently, we are in the process of scheduling meetings for the summer while our fall is quickly filling up with missions conferences.

Blessing: We always praise the Lord for a smooth-running van, and for continued safety on the roads as we travel. We truly praise the Lord for His many blessings and for how He continues to faithfully meet our every need.

October-December

2021

Yearly report: We praise the Lord for another busy and blessed year! 2021 was one of our busiest years to date with Worldview Ministries. After safely traveling to 14 states, (Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia, Michigan, Virginia, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Illinois, and Indiana), we were blessed to be in seventy-two churches and fifteen missions conferences. We saw the Lord answer a specific prayer by allowing us to be in thirty new churches in 2021. We cannot overemphasize how we truly give all honor and glory to the Lord for allowing us to have such a full schedule.

October-December: The Lord also allowed us to have a full Fall/Winter schedule. We were in seventeen churches and had the opportunity to be in five missions conferences. We were blessed to give a report in six churches in addition to filling the pulpit for three churches.

Family news: We were so blessed to have all of our family home for Christmas, and are always so grateful for the chance to make more wonderful memories together. Bill and Charissa are currently on winter tour with a Pensacola Christian College singing group. Drew is back at PCC working in the promotions department. Chad is enjoying his Christmas break and Gabe and Cooper have just started back with their studies.

Praises: We praise the Lord that our van is running well and that the Lord has kept us safe on the roads as we have traveled the twenty-five (plus) thousand miles over the 2021 year. Because of Covid, we had some cancellations, but the Lord always graciously filled those cancellations with other meetings. We are also praising the Lord for all the churches who have made us a part of their missions family. It is a true honor to partner with them on behalf of the Great Commission and unreached people groups.

Prayer Request: We are specifically asking prayer for safety as we travel, a vehicle that runs smoothly, good health, and for our schedule to be filled throughout the 2022 year. We already have twenty-three meetings scheduled for 2022 with eleven churches being brand new to Worldview Ministries. In February, we begin our first trip out west, with meetings in Kansas, Nebraska, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, and Oklahoma. We covet your prayers as we still have a few more meetings to schedule for this trip.

July-September

2021

Report: Our family had the opportunity to be in twenty-four churches during the months of July, August, and September. We praise the Lord that sixteen of these churches were new to WorldView Ministries. Our meetings brought us through Ohio, West Virginia, Florida, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Praises: When I started the year, I had a goal to be in thirty new churches in 2021. I know I am a bit biased, but I whole-heartedly believe that every church in America should be aware of and directly involved with the propagation of the Scriptures for unreached people groups. So far, we are on track for being in seventy churches in 2021, and as of yesterday morning, the Lord allowed us to schedule our thirtieth brand new church. It is a daily prayer request that the Lord allows us to fill our schedule and that the Lord brings us to churches that He wants us to be in.

Because of Covid, we have had some cancellations; however, we are blessed that the cancellations have not been anything in comparison to last year. Recently, due to Covid, we had a last-minute cancellation. On Saturday, we received a phone call at 10:00 pm from a Pastor of a different church, inviting us to present WorldView Ministries the very next morning. Again, we are so thankful that the Lord is in control of our schedule and we are reminded that He desires His Word translated even more than we do.

When the transmission in our van broke, we had to make a decision to purchase a vehicle or replace the transmission. Though we did not necessarily have the extra funds for this unexpected expense, we made the decision to replace the transmission. What a blessing when we received our monthly support check to see that three anonymous individuals from three different churches gave gifts that equaled the total of our new transmission. As those individuals gave even before we knew we had a need, it was tremendous reminder of Matthew 6:8 “for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.” We praise the Lord for using these generous individuals to remind us of this comforting truth and for meeting this specific need in our life!

Prayer Request: We are specifically asking prayer for safety as we travel, a vehicle that runs smoothly, good health, and for our schedule to be filled throughout the 2021 year.

April-June

2021

Report: Our family had the opportunity to be in fifteen churches during the months of April through June. We praise the Lord that four of these churches were new to WorldView Ministries. Our meetings brought us through Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, and Virginia. Thankfully, the summer months often give me many opportunities to fill pulpits for vacationing pastors, where I am able to preach as well as to give WorldView updates. Being the speaker for a church’s four-day missions conference and the commencement speaker for two graduations were also special blessings. Amy was grateful to be given opportunity to speak and share her testimony in several ladies’ meetings as well as church services. We are both always humbled by and grateful for every single church we have been privileged to be in.

WorldView Conference: Our WorldView annual meeting was held June 9-11 in Nashville, Indiana. This was a special TEAM meeting, as we celebrated WorldView’s tenth anniversary.

Family news: We have three of our boys scattered all over the United States this summer. Bill and Charissa are leading a singing group for PCC and are thoroughly enjoying the western part of the United States. Chad is privileged and thankful to be working at a Christian camp in California. Drew graduated in May from PCC and is excited to be working for the college. And we couldn’t be happier to still have Gabe and Cooper at home with us. We so enjoy their company as we’re able to travel together.

Praises: We are thankful to have a full schedule through the end of August. We praise the Lord that our van is running well and that the Lord has kept us safe on the roads as we have traveled.

Prayer Request: We are very grateful for the “prayer warriors” that are constantly lifting up the Fennell family in prayer. We are specifically asking prayer for safety as we travel, good health, and for our schedule to be filled throughout the 2021 year.

January-March

2021

Missions Conferences: As I write this Newsletter, we have just finished six mission’s conferences in six weeks. I was honored and humbled to have the privilege to be the speaker for three of these conferences. What a great opportunity to challenge God’s people with the great responsibility of being obedient to the Great Commission and taking the Gospel “unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Report: Our family had the opportunity to be in seventeen churches during the months of January through March. We praise the Lord that nine of these churches were new to WorldView Ministries. It is always a joy to share the great need of Scripture translation in every church we have the privilege of being in. Our meetings brought us through Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Tennessee.

WorldView: What a joy to see God’s people responding so positively to Scripture translation. In our travels, we have observed believers giving one-time monetary gifts, churches taking up special offerings, churches sponsoring a book of the Bible, and churches sponsoring a translation project just as they would support a missionary. It is such an encouragement to see Christians excited about the propagation of the Scriptures to unreached people groups.

Family news: Our second son Drew, a senior at PCC, is planning on graduating in May. We are looking forward to making the trip to Florida to be with the entire family for Drew’s graduation ceremony. Chad is finishing his sophomore year at PCC. Gabe is finishing up his eleventh grade year and Cooper is finishing up third grade.

Praises: We are thankful to have a full schedule through the end of May.

October-December

2020

Yearly report: We truly give all honor and glory to the Lord for allowing us to have another busy and blessed year! After safely traveling to nine states, (Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia, Michigan, Virginia, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Kentucky), we were blessed to be in sixty-three churches and ten missions conferences. We saw the Lord bless as twelve new churches partnered with us for support, which brings our support level to 98%.

In January, I had the wonderful opportunity to travel with Dr. Ken Fielder and Pastor Sam Moss to Uganda. We were able to observe WorldView’s Madi Bible translation project in Adjumani. It was such an honor to spend time with our Bible translators and to observe their progress on a New Testament for the Madi people.

As you can imagine, Covid presented many challenges with the scheduling of meetings. Because of the quarantine, we were only able to be in four churches during the months of May and June. We were thankful that our home church, Mount Vernon Baptist Temple, helped us record our deputation presentation so that we could send it to churches to be used for online services. Please continue to pray for all missionaries that are on deputation during this time. Some of our family members came down with Covid right after Christmas. We are thankful to be feeling better and that we only had to cancel one Sunday service.

October-December: The Lord also allowed us to have a full Fall/Winter schedule. We were in twenty churches and had the opportunity to present WorldView in six new churches. The Lord also allowed us to fill the pulpit and give ministry updates in fourteen churches.

Family news: Bill and Charissa are traveling as college representatives for Pensacola Christian College. Chad is a sophomore at PCC and Drew, a senior at PCC, is planning on graduating in May. We are so blessed to have had all of our family home for Christmas, and are always so grateful for the chance to make more wonderful memories together.

Praises: We praise the Lord that our van is running well and that the Lord has kept us safe on the roads, as we have traveled extensively over the 2020 year. In addition to that, the Lord has given us a full winter schedule, allowing our calendar to be filled through March.

July-September

2020

Report: We praise the Lord that, in spite of the “Corona Crisis,” we have been blessed to be busy! The Lord allowed us to travel and be in Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, and Virginia. We are very grateful to have had the privilege to be in thirteen churches. Two of these churches were missions conferences, and five churches were brand new to WorldView Ministries.

WorldView Covid-19 Relief Effort: We were overwhelmed at the response to our appeal for relief funds to help suffering families in India and Uganda. Although our focus is Bible translation, we felt we could not ignore the needs before us. More than $35,000.00 came in for this purpose and every dollar given was used to help people in need.  Using the structure of our teams already in place in the Runyankore, Madi and Lhukonzo projects in Uganda and the Liangmai project in North India, we were able to coordinate the purchase and distribution of massive amounts of food. Literally thousands of families were provided with much needed help.

Family News: Before school started, we took a few days the first of August to go camping in southern Ohio. Amy and I are not “campers” and have never done anything like that before, but thought that every family should go camping at least once (right?).  Surprisingly, we had a great time, made some wonderful memories, and have even discussed going camping again in the (far, far) future.

Praises: We are thrilled to announce that we are now at 97% of our support. We just recently heard of another church that has partnered with us in ministry. We are overwhelmed with gratitude at how Churches are responding to the great need of Scripture translation. We are also thankful for a full Fall schedule. We are blessed to be scheduled in five missions conferences in the following weeks. Our calendar has us traveling to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky. We praise the Lord for the privilege to represent WorldView Ministries!

May/June

2020

Report: Because of the Covid-19 quarantine we were only able to be in four churches during the months of May and June. Please continue to pray for all missionaries that are on deputation during this time. It is a challenge to schedule meetings, as many churches are having their attendance affected by the current situation. We are very blessed to see our schedule begin to fill up. At the present, the Lord has blessed us with a full July schedule. We are working hard to fill the rest of our summer and fall. Our home church, Mount Vernon Baptist Temple, was very gracious to record our full presentation so that we may send it to churches that desire to remain missions-minded during this quarantine. We would be happy to send that video to you if you would be interested in showing it to your church family.

Missions Conference: One of the meetings the Lord allowed me to be a part of was a missions conference. On May 17-20, I had the wonderful opportunity to preach for Waverly Baptist Temple. After being without meetings for a month and a half, this was a very welcomed opportunity. Pastor Goodman and his church family have such a heart for missions and they were such a tremendous encouragement to each of us missionaries.

Family news: Because of the quarantine, both Drew’s and Chad’s summer opportunities, working with Pensacola Christian College, were canceled. As a result, we are thrilled to have them both home for the entire summer. We are looking at this as a special blessing! They were able to be home for Mother’s Day and of course, that made for a special day for Amy.

Praises: We are thrilled to announce that we are now at 94% of our support. Three of the churches that we were in prior to the start of the quarantine, have taken us on for support!  We are absolutely overwhelmed at how the Lord is taking care of us during this time. We have witnessed, first-hand, how the Lord uses the family of God to meet specific needs during this time of canceled meetings. Our family has so much to be thankful for!

March/April - 2020

Corona, Cancellations, and God’s Care!

Report: We were able to be in six churches in March before the quarantine officially went into effect. All our meetings were canceled beginning March 18. Thankfully, we were blessed to be able to fill the pulpit in our home church through video and social media. We were also able to present our ministry through video in three other churches during the month of April as well as fill the pulpit in another. Our home church, Mount Vernon Baptist Temple, was very gracious to record our full presentation to send to churches that desire to keep missions in front of their church during this quarantine. We would be happy to send that video to you if you would be interested in showing it to your church family.

Special Missions Conference: On March 4-8, I had the wonderful opportunity to travel with Dr. Ken Fielder and missionary Lloyd Hammond to Hagerstown, Maryland. We were able to be a part of a “Word for the World” missions conference at Emmanuel Baptist Temple. While on deputation, we have been privileged to be a part of sixty missions conferences, however this was the very first missions conference that focused exclusively on Scripture translation. What a joy to see the response from the Emmanuel Baptist Temple regarding translating the Word of God for unreached people groups. It was thrilling to see a church family getting excited about the Great Commission as a result of focusing on the almost 4000 people groups still waiting for the Bible in their language. It would be such a blessing to see other Pastors host a special “Word for the World” missions conference.

Family news: While in Hagerstown, Maryland, we were able to take a day and visit Washington D.C. While our three oldest boys have had the opportunity to visit our country’s capital, it was a first for Gabe and Coop. We are enjoying having Drew and Chad home from Pensacola Christian College during this quarantine. While we missed Bill and Charissa, it was great to have four of the boys home to celebrate Resurrection Sunday.

Praises: We are absolutely overwhelmed at how the Lord is taking care of us during this time of quarantine. We have witnessed, first-hand, how the Lord uses the family of God to meet specific needs during this time of canceled meetings. Our family has so much to be thankful for!

Prayer request: Like so many, we are praying that things will get back to normal. Please pray for missionaries that are just starting deputation, that the Lord will continue to meet their needs at this time.

January/February

2020

Uganda Report: On January 6-15, I had the wonderful opportunity to travel with Dr. Ken Fielder and Pastor Sam Moss to Uganda. We were able to observe WorldView’s Madi Bible translation project in Adjumani. It was such an honor to spend time with our Bible translators there, and to observe their progress on a New Testament for the Madi people. While in Adjumani, we also hosted a pastors conference, where we were able to minister to sixty-five Madi pastors. In addition to preaching and encouraging these men, we also had the opportunity to familiarize them with the Madi translation project as well as with WorldView Ministries. One of the highlights of the trip was to drive an hour into the bush and preach for Hope and Grace Independent Baptist Church.  There were about thirty church members that met under a mango tree. For two hours we had singing, preaching, testimonies, fellowship, and of course food!

Report: The Lord also allowed us to have a full winter schedule. During the months of January and February we were in fourteen churches and had the opportunity to present WorldView in three new churches. The Lord also allowed us to fill the pulpit and give ministry updates in six supporting churches.

Family news: During the winter break, our second son Drew, a Junior at Pensacola Christian College, had the opportunity to travel for three weeks with his PCC ensemble group. We are grateful for the opportunities that these groups have provided. We also learned that our third son Chad, a Freshman at PCC, was chosen to be in a singing group for the PCC Teen Extreme camps during the upcoming summer.

Praises: We praise the Lord for safety on the roads, a van that is running smoothly, and for a fairly full Spring schedule. We LOVE the opportunity to share WorldView Ministries and Scripture translation in brand new churches. We already have thirteen new churches scheduled for 2020.

Prayer request: Please pray that the remainder of our schedule will fill with meetings. Also, we will be traveling to three missions conferences during the month of March and we covet your prayers for safety as we travel.

November/December

2019

Yearly report: We truly give all honor and glory to the Lord for allowing us to have another busy and blessed year! After safely traveling over 17,000 miles, we were blessed to be in seventy-seven churches and sixteen missions conferences. We had the opportunity to be in nine states (Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, South Carolina, Michigan, Alabama, and Alaska), and we saw the Lord bless as twelve new churches partnered with us for support. We just recently had three more churches take us on for support, which brings our support level to 90%.

November and December: The Lord also allowed us to have a full winter schedule. During the months of November and December, we were in eight churches and had the opportunity to present WorldView in three new churches. The Lord also allowed us to fill the pulpit and give ministry updates in five supporting churches.

Family news: In 2019, we were able to see our oldest son, Bill, graduate from Pensacola Christian College and then, in June, get married. We were also able to see our third son, Chad, graduate from high school. He is now a freshman at Pensacola Christian College. Our second son, Drew, is a junior at PCC and is traveling with a singing group over the winter break. We were so blessed to have all of our kids home for Christmas. It was a joy to make some new, wonderful memories together.

Praises: We praise the Lord that our van is running well and that the Lord has kept us safe on the roads, as we have traveled extensively over the 2019 year. In addition to that, the Lord has given us a full winter schedule, allowing our calendar to be filled through most of March.

Prayer request: Please pray that the remainder of our winter schedule will fill with meetings. Also, please pray for our trip to Uganda, January 6 through the 15th. We will be going to meet with our Bible translators for the Madi project, as well as to host a pastor’s conference in that area. We covet your prayers for this meeting.

September/October

2019

Report: We had the opportunity to be in twelve churches during the months of September and October.  We traveled a complete circle as we held meetings in Florida, Ohio, Alaska, Ohio, and then back to Florida.  It was a tremendous blessing to have the privilege to present WorldView Ministries in six new churches.  It was a special privilege to be invited to Alaska. While in Alaska we traveled over 1,300 miles and presented WorldView in four churches.  Traveling to Alaska was certainly one of the highlights of our deputation thus far.  The Fall brings many missions conference opportunities and we are grateful to have a full schedule. We are currently in the midst of seven missions conferences in seven weeks. The Lord allowed me to be the main speaker for one of the missions conferences.  I always enjoy the opportunity to challenge church families with the importance of obeying The Great Commission on behalf of unreached people groups.

Family news: One of the blessings of our trip to Alaska was that Gabriel and Cooper traveled with us. We made some wonderful memories and are still talking about the fun we had. We saw 30 moose, five caribou, and more bald eagles than we could count. The scenery was breath taking and we took hundreds of photos. We also had opportunity to make some wonderful friends and for that we are so grateful. One of our missions conferences was in Pensacola, Florida. While there, we stayed with our oldest son Bill, and his wife Charissa. It was also a blessing to see Drew and Chad, who are students at Pensacola Christian College.

Schedule: We are blessed to have a full November calendar with missions conferences in Ohio and South Carolina. We are currently in the process of scheduling meetings for 2020.

Blessing: We praise the Lord that our van is running smoothly and that we have had safety on the roads as we travel. Also, the Lord has allowed us to see our support rise to 85%.  We truly praise the Lord for His many blessings that He has bestowed upon the Fennell family.

July/August

2019

Report:We had the opportunity to be in fourteen churches during the months of July and August. The Lord brought us safely through Tennessee, West Virginia, Ohio, Alabama, and Florida.  We were blessed to have the privilege to present WorldView Ministries in seven new churches. In addition, we were blessed to fill the pulpit and give a report to supporting churches regarding WorldView’s new Runyankore New Testament. What a blessing to see God’s people respond so wonderfully to this finished project. It is truly overwhelming to see church members wiping away tears as they watch the video of Ugandan Christians receiving, for the first time, a copy of the New Testament.  Only eternity will reveal all of the fruit that will result from the Scriptures in the hands of dedicated, Ugandan believers.  We’re thankful for those who have joined us in praying for many more Scriptures to be presented in the future, to these unreached people groups. I cannot reiterate enough how blessed I feel to have a part in this eternal work.

Family news:We now have three boys at Pensacola Christian College. Bill, our oldest, and his wife Charissa are now on staff at PCC. Drew is a junior and Chad is a freshman. In August we were able to travel, as a family, to Pensacola to drop off Drew and Chad at college.  While we were in Pensacola, we were able to spend some time with Bill and Charissa, get Chad acclimated to college life, present WorldView in four churches, and enjoy some time of rest and relaxation.

Schedule:We are blessed to have a full September calendar with two meetings in Florida and the remainder of our meetings in Ohio. We are so thankful to have a full October schedule with five missions conferences, including an invitation to be in three missions conferences in Alaska.

Blessing:We praise the Lord that our van is running smoothly and that we have had safety on the roads as we travel. Also, the Lord has added two new supporting churches. We truly praise the Lord for His many blessings that He has bestowed upon the Fennell family.

June

2019

Report: We were blessed to be in seven meetings in the month of June.We had the privilege to present WorldView Ministries to four new churches. I cannot adequately describe just how thrilling it is for me to share Scripture translation with churches who are new to this ministry.  In addition to presenting in new churches, we had the opportunity to give an update on WorldView’s new Runyankore translationin several of our formerly visited churches. We have observed a wonderful response to this Runyankore New Testament. It is extremely fulfilling to see God’s people getting excited about providing the Word of God to unreached people groups. We also were given the opportunity to fill the pulpit for a supporting church, while their pastor was out of town. After fifteen years of being a pastor, I always enjoy this opportunity.

Our WorldView annual meetingwas held June 5-7 in Nashville, Indiana.  It was a joy to be around so many pastors, laymen, and Bible translators who are excited about Bible translation, and burdened about the unreached people groups of the world. This was WorldView Ministry’s ninth annual meeting.

Family news: Our oldest son, William Harrison Fennell VI was married to Charissa Joy Brown on June 29 in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. It was such a blessing to have so many family and friends willing to make the trip to witness Bill and Charissa’s special day. Of course, we thought the ceremony was absolutely beautiful and we are so very happy for them as they begin their new life together.

Schedule: Thankfully, our July is very busy with meetings in Ohio, West Virginia, and Tennessee; yet, we are continuing to schedule the remainder of our August and September calendar. We are so excited to have a full Fall schedule with numerous missions conferences, including an invitation to be in two missions conferences in Alaska.

Blessing:We praise the Lord that our van is running smoothly and that we have had safety on the roads as we travel. We are also thankful that we have been healthy and have not had to cancel any meetings due to illness. To God Be the Glory!

April/ May

2019

Report:The last two months have been extremely busy. As I mentioned in our previous newsletter,I had the amazing privilege to witness the Runyankore Bible dedication ceremony in Mbarara Uganda on April 13. We are still rejoicing over that wonderful experience! In addition to our trip to Uganda, we have been blessed to have meetings in Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, and West Virginia. Two of these meetings were missions conferences. We are constantly in awe at how churches go “above and beyond” to make us feel special at these missions conferences. We are so thankful for their prayers, words of encouragement, gifts, and support. We constantly pray that the Lord blesses these churches richly for their love and sacrifice! Amy had the wonderful privilege to speak at two ladies meetings. She is always humbled to have the opportunity to share her testimony at missions conferences and mother/daughter banquets. Amy’s adoption story is a wonderful illustration of God’s grace towards all of us. So many have commented to me about what an encouragement and blessing Amy’s testimony has been to them.

Family news:We celebrated two graduations in the month of May. Bill graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a degree in History education and music. He will be married to Charissa Brown on June 29th. He and Charissa will then work for the college. We are thankful for the Lord’s leading in their lives. Our third son Chad graduated from Temple Christian Academy, Mount Vernon on May 30th. He was one of ten graduates. Our second son Drew is traveling with a singing group for Pensacola Christian College this summer. He is blessed to be traveling out West and is having a great time. We are looking forward to seeing him as he flies out for Bill’s wedding at the end of June.

Schedule: In addition to Bill’s wedding, we have a full June schedule with seven meetings. Our July is also filled and we are trying to schedule the remainder of our August and September calendar. We are so excited to have a full fall schedule with numerous missions conferences.

Blessing:We are thankful that three new churches have taken us on for support in the last two months. That brings our total to forty-sevensupporting churches and a little over eighty percentsupport. To God be the glory!

April 2019 - Special Report

4/2019

On April 13 I had the amazing privilege to witness the Runyankore Bible dedication ceremony in Mbarara Uganda. The Runyankore are a people group with a population of over 5 million. After 11 years of hard work and giving of time, talent, and treasure, WorldView Ministries was able to give this people group their first accurate translation of the New Testament. Because this Scripture translation project cost approximately $250,000, we are so grateful for the faithful giving of God's people. God used the generous sacrifice of churches and Christians to see this eternal work come to fruition. What a blessing to see God's people getting excited about the propagation of the Scriptures to unreached people groups!

The Ceremony began at 11:00 am and continued for three hours. There were about 400 in attendance. The building was so crowded that many had to stand outside to witness this historic event. At the end of the service, the New Testament was officially presented to the translators, who then presented them to the pastors. The pastors then distributed a New Testament to every person in the service. After the Bibles were distributed, the attendees held their New Testaments in the air and sang songs of praise to the Lord. The ceremony concluded with the entire assembly reading together, John 3:16.

It was one of the greatest events that I have ever witnessed and I counted it an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to be present for this special day. I must confess that my first thought upon witnessing this dedication ceremony was how this truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity!  And yet, because of WorldView Ministries, our Bible translators and their families, and the giving of God's people, we are looking forward to the day that we can see many, many more Scripture dedication ceremonies! To God be the Glory!

"After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb."
~ Revelation 7:9-10

March 2019

3/2019

Report:I returned from India the first week of March and we have been blessed to be busy ever since.  We had the opportunity to be in seven churches during the month of March. Two of these churches were introduced to WorldView Ministries for the very first time. It is always exciting to have the privilege to raise awareness for WorldView Ministries and the translation of the Scriptures to unreached people groups.

I had the opportunity to give a report to four of our supporting churches regarding the completion of WorldView's new Runyankore New Testament.  In April I will travel to Uganda with Dr. Ken Fielder and the WorldView team.  The purpose of this trip is to hold a Bible dedication ceremony and to officially present the Runyankore people with their very first New Testament. This is going to be a very exciting event and I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to witness this historic moment. We covet your prayers as we travel April 9-17.

Three of our meetings this past month were missions conferences. It was a joy to be at our home church, Mount Vernon Baptist Temple, for their annual missions conference. We also had the opportunity to be with Pastor Aaron Furman and Calvary Baptist Church of Akron, for their missions conference.  I also had the opportunity to be with my good friend, Pastor Paul Males, and the Westlake Baptist Church, to preach for their missions emphasis month. We give the Lord all the praise for allowing us to have such a full schedule.

Family News: Chad (a senior) and Gabe (eighth grade) had the opportunity to perform with their Christian school’sfine arts competition. The Buckeye Christian School Organization had almost 500 students perform for two days at the Cleveland Baptist Church. This has been a wonderful experience for our boys and we are thankful that they have had these opportunities.

Upcoming Calendar: In April, in addition to traveling to Uganda, we will be in missions conferencesin Tennessee and Alabama. While our Fall schedule is filling up quickly, I am currently working to fill the summer months.

February

2/2019

Report: It was a blessing to be in seven churches in the first three weeks of February. While it was a very busy three weeks, we were excited to have a full schedule. We were able to present WorldView Ministries in four new churches and give a report in three supporting churches. The four new churches were in Ohio. Ohio churches have been such a blessing to the Fennell family; for, of the forty-four churches that support us, thirty-three of them are in Ohio!

The last week of February, I was privileged to travel with Dr. Ken Fielder to India and participate in our eleventh annual WorldView Pastor’s Conference. This year’s conference brought in two hundred and fifteen pastors from all over India. In addition to these pastors, we also had in attendance, three hundred and fifty college students. I had the opportunity to preach seven times during the three day conference. What a tremendous blessing to minister to and fellowship with these choice servants of God. In addition to this conference, we were able to visit WorldView Institute. Of the fourteen students, eight will graduate with an MA in Bible translation. It is thrilling to consider the great potential that these students have in serving the Lord.

There were six men that participated in this year’s conference. It was a privilege to have Pastor Mark Falls, of the Newark Baptist Temple, and Pastor Dan Berdine, of the Greenville Baptist Temple, join four of our WorldView staff (Ken Fielder, Bob McQueary, James Overton, and myself). It was such a joy to fellowship with these men. We praise the Lord for safety to and from India. This was my third opportunity to participate in this conference. India holds a special place in my heart, as it was there that the Lord began to do a work in my heart regarding unreached people groups and Bible Translation.

Upcoming Calendar: We have a full schedule through April, including five missions conferences. These meetings will be in Ohio, Tennessee and Alabama. Also in April, I will have the privilege to travel to Uganda. Please pray for our summer calendar as I am currently working to fill these summer months.

Report: It was a tremendous blessing to have fourteen meetings during the months of December and January. We were thankful to have the opportunity to present Worldview Ministries in five new churches, and we were thrilled to give an update in seven of our supporting churches.  It was also a joy to fill the pulpit for a pastor, as well as to preach an anniversary Sunday for one of our supporting churches. In addition, it was a privilege to preach in a Christian School chapel. The Lord receives all the glory for allowing us to have a full schedule!

Upcoming Calendar: We are excited to report that we have a full schedule through the month of April. Our meetings will be in Ohio, Alabama, and Arizona. Five of these meetings will be missions conferences. In addition to regular meetings, I will have an opportunity to travel to India at the end of February and Uganda in mid April. More  details will be given about these trips in the next news letter.

Support: We are grateful to announce that three more churches have taken us on for support. These three bring our total to forty-four churches, in addition to numerous individual supporters. Based on these additional churches, our total support is now at eighty percent. Our family is excited and grateful as we are nearing the end of our deputation journey. We thank the Lord for the churches that have partnered with us on behalf of the Great Commission and unreached people groups!

Family News:  The next few months bring two graduations and a wedding! In May, our oldest son Bill will be graduating from Pensacola Christian College.  Also in May, our third son Chad will be graduating from Temple ChristianAcademy in Howard, Ohio.  Then, on June 29th, Bill will be getting married in Pennsylvania, to Miss Charissa Joy Brown. Though it is going to be very busy in the next few months, we feel very blessed to have these family events to look forward to.

"Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, blessHis holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:" ~Psalm 103:1-2

Thanksgiving: We praise the Lord for His "benefits" and blessings upon our family. After two years of deputation , it is a joy to report that we are now at seventy-five percent of our support, with forty-one churches partnering with us in ministry.  The Lord has allowed us to be in a hundred and fifty churches. Fifty of those churches were missions conferences. I also had the great privilege to preach five of those conferences.  Thank you Pastors for your willingness to schedule us! In addition to these churches, we are also praising the Lord for numerous individuals who are supporting us on a monthly basis as well.  We are thankful for a vehicle that is running well and for safety on the roads as we have traveled many miles going from church to church.  We are also blessed to have met so many new friends in this new ministry.  What a joy to meet brothers and sisters in Christ that share our burden for Scripture translation to the unreached people groups of the World.  Most importantly, we praise the Lord for WorldView Ministries! What a tremendous joy and privilege to serve with such an eternal  ministry!

November Meetings:  We started the month of November by being blessed with two missions conferences! I had the wonderful privilege to preach for Pastor Greg Steinke at Calvary Baptist church in Troy, Ohio.  It was also a joy to be with Pastor Ralph Johnson of Victory Baptist Church in Coshocton, Ohio for their missions conference.  The rest of the month of November, we were able to be in three of our supporting churches to preach and give a two year report.

Family News:  We are always thankful to have our whole family together.  The "college crew" from PCC was able to visit over the Thanksgiving Holiday.  There is never a dull moment when the entire gang is here. The house is a lot noisier than normal, but we would not have it any other way. What a joy to make some great memories over this Thanksgiving break!

October

10/2018

October Report: Fall is typically a busy time for missions conferences. We were blessed to be in four missions conferences this past October.  Our first missions conference this Fall was in Tampa, Florida at Providence Baptist Church.  I had the wonderful joy and privilege to be the key-note speaker for this conference.  How humbling it was to have this opportunity while still on deputation.  It is an overwhelming yet exciting responsibility to challenge the saints with the task of world evangelism.  I am always in awe that while trying to be a blessing to these churches, the churches are more of a blessing to me. God uses these sweet saints through their prayers, generosity, and words of encouragement.  What a joy it is to have the privilege to be a part of missions conferences.

The missions conference in Tampa ended a two-and-a-half-month tour of Florida.  The Lord allowed us to present our family and ministry in seventeen churches while traveling through Florida. After leaving Florida, we headed back to Ohio.  We then traveled to Canton, Ohio to be in a missions conference at Open Door Baptist Church (Pastor Bob Butterfield).  What a tremendous blessing to have these dear folks take us on for support, on the spot! That has only happened a few times in the last two years, and is always a tremendous encouragement to us.

From Canton, we traveled to Akron, Ohio to be at a missions conference at Community Baptist Temple (Pastor Marc O’Donnell). From Akron, I traveled to Gypsy, West Virginia to be in a five-day missions conference at Bible Baptist Fellowship Church (Dr. George Heitman).  We praise the Lord for pastors that keep missions in front of their people, and for churches that have a heart for the Great Commission. How exciting to see church families pray, plan, and persevere to see the Gospel spread to the uttermost parts of the world. Only eternity will reveal all the fruit from their sacrifice and labor of love.

Family News: We are thrilled to announce that our oldest son is engaged. What a tremendous blessing to be in Pensacola, Florida for the engagement of William Harrison Fennell VI and Charissa Joy Brown. We are so happy for them and rejoice in the Lord’s leading in their lives.  Amy and I finally get a daughter, and we couldn’t be happier! :)

August/September

9/2018

Florida Trip:  August and September brought us to our longest trip away from Ohio while on deputation. We spent the entire two months presenting our family and ministry in churches all over the state of Florida. We were blessed to have the privilege to present WorldView ministries in fourteen churches. What a joy to meet so many wonderful new friends that are interested in Scripture translation to the unreached.

We began the month of August by picking up our two oldest sons at Pensacola Christian College. Both, Bill and Drew, had the opportunity to travel the summer in separate singing groups with the college. Bill traveled in the south and Drew traveled the Midwest. We enjoyed spending some time of rest and relaxation with them while in the Pensacola area. Both of them had to be back to college early, so it was a joy to be together for about five days before they needed to be back on campus.

While in the Panhandle of Florida, we were able to present our ministry in five area churches - Scenic Bay Baptist Church in Pensacola, Joy Bible Baptist Church in Milton, Smyrna Baptist Church in Pensacola, Faith Bible Baptist Church in Century, and West Florida Baptist Church in Milton. We were thankful to be in these wonderful churches, while also being close to Bill and Drew at PCC.

After leaving the Pensacola area, we traveled to south Florida to spend three weeks presenting our ministry in area churches in Miami. We were blessed to be in South Dade Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Coconut Creek, Bible Baptist Church of Pembroke Pines, Fort Lauderdale Baptist Church, and Grace Baptist Church. We also had the opportunity to give a report and preach at one of our supporting churches – First Baptist Church of Westwood Lake. We praise the Lord for this wonderful church, as they took such great care of us by allowing us to stay in one of their guest homes while we were in the area.  In addition to presenting our ministry in south Florida, we were also able to be in three churches in central Florida – Central Baptist Church of Ocala, New Testament Baptist Church of Floral City, and Grace Bible Baptist Church of Leesburg.

It was also a joy to have the opportunity to preach in two Christian Schools – Colonial Christian School in Homestead and Westwood Christian School in Westwood Lake.  It is always a privilege to share our testimony and ministry with Christian school students.

Prayer Request: In October we begin a five day Missions Conference in Tampa and then, after two and a half months, return home to Ohio.  We will have the opportunity to be in three missions conferences in the next few weeks – two in Ohio and one in West Virginia.

July Report

7/2018

July Report:  July consisted of presenting our ministry in three states: Ohio, Maine, and Alabama. So far, deputation has kept us pretty close to Ohio, but we are now starting to cross the country more frequently. July was one of our busiest months, with the Lord allowing us to schedule eleven meetings. We praise the Lord for a full schedule and for the opportunity to present Bible translation in so many new churches.

We started July in Upper Sandusky, Ohio at Heritage Baptist Church and Lighthouse Baptist Church in Bucyrus, Ohio.  I also had the opportunity to fill the pulpit for two supporting churches, Ebenezer Baptist Church in Bethesda, Ohio (Dr. Brian Bee), and Gospel Light Baptist Church in Sunbury, Ohio (Pastor Chris Tullos).  Both of these men are dear friends and have been a tremendous encouragement to me.

I had the wonderful opportunity to present WorldView Ministries in four churches in Maine.  What a privilege to present and preach in the church where I was saved and baptized.  As a seven year old boy, I heard the Gospel preached at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ellsworth, Maine; and it was there that I trusted Christ as my Savior. We also presented our ministry at Hermon Baptist Church and Maine Coast Baptist Church. We ended our Maine trip by traveling to Ridge Baptist Church in Lubec, Maine.

After returning to Ohio for a few days, we traveled to Alabama to spend our last Sunday in July at Redemption Baptist Church (Pastor Glenn Kosiorek), and Somerville Baptist Church (Pastor Shane Lewis).  Both of these men have been good friends for many years and I praise the Lord for their kindness and faithful testimony.

Praise: We praise the Lord that we received a $13,000 gift toward a Bible translation project. What a joy to see God’s people burdened about the propagation of the Scriptures to the unreached! We also praise the Lord for 36 churches that have partnered with us in ministry!

Prayer Request: In August and September we will be on the road for two months presenting our ministry in Florida churches.  In addition to these requests, we are also praying for the following:

  1. For our safety as we travel

  2. For our schedule to fill with new church meetings

  3. For our support to continue to increase

June Report

6/2018

June Report: Our June was extremely busy, consisting of preaching in three churches, attending our WorldView annual meeting, and traveling to Nepal to visit one of our Scripture translation projects.

We were blessed to have the privilege to preach anniversary Sunday for Capitol City Baptist Church in Columbus Ohio. Pastor Mark Carpenter has been a great friend and I am so thankful for his faithful testimony. We were also blessed to present WorldView Ministries to two new churches - Liberty Baptist Church in Liberty Indiana, and Hilltop Baptist Church in Fairfield Ohio.  Pastor Dennis Riddick of Liberty Baptist is a dear friend and it was so good to fellowship with him and Mrs. Riddick again. Pastor Barry Wilson has been the pastor of Hilltop Baptist for over 33 years and has such a friendly church family.

Our WorldView annual meeting was held June 6-8 in Nashville, Indiana.  It was a joy to be around so many pastors, laymen, and Bible translators who are excited about Bible translation and burdened about the unreached people groups of the world. This was WorldView Ministry’s eighth annual meeting and we were able to see 70 in attendance.  “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” ~ Proverbs 27:17

I had the amazing privilege to go to Nepal June 17-25 with Dr. Ken Fielder and Dr. Bob McQueary.  We were able to observe our Tibetan Bible translation project in Kathmandu.  Missionary Justin Levine  has been in Nepal for eight years and it was such a thrill to see the progress that has been made for a Bible for Tibet.

Prayer Requests: In July, we will be traveling to Maine to present our ministry in four churches. In August and September we will be on the road for two months presenting our ministry in Florida churches.  In addition to these requests, we are also praying for the following:

  1. For our safety as we travel (our van is doing great)

  2. For our schedule to fill with new church meetings

  3. For our support to continue to increase

Praise: We praise the Lord that we now have 36 churches that have partnered with us in ministry.  We also are thanking the Lord for a full schedule. While we have just a few “holes” in the calendar, our schedule is very full through the first week of November.

May Report

5/2018

May Report: May began with Amy speaking for a Ladies Banquet for one of our supporting churches - Ambassador Baptist church in Wadsworth, Ohio.  We then filled the pulpit for another supporting church – Cornerstone Baptist Temple in New Lexington, Ohio.  We were able to present the ministry of WorldView Ministries in three new churches: God’s Word Bible Church in Big Prairie, Ohio; Emmanuel Baptist Temple in Bailey Lakes, Ohio; Village Baptist Temple in Canton Ohio. We finished the month by preaching for a Preachers Fellowship meeting at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Sandusky, Ohio.  We praise the Lord for these opportunities to minister in supporting churches as well as for the opportunity to raise awareness in new churches for Scripture translation.

Family Update: We are praying for our two oldest sons, Bill and Drew, as they travel this summer with singing groups for Pensacola Christian College. Bill (a senior) is traveling in the South, and Drew (a sophomore) is traveling the Midwest.  Our third son, Chad, will be attending a missions camp in Georgia in June. This will be his third time attending, and we are praying that the Lord will use this time to speak to Chad’s heart. Our youngest, Cooper, just graduated from Kindergarten.  He is very, very excited to now be an official First Grader!

Prayer Requests: In June, I will be taking a trip with Dr. Ken Fielder to visit our translation team in Nepal. In July, we will be traveling to Maine to present our ministry in four churches. In August and September we will be on the road for two months presenting our ministry in Florida churches.  In addition to these requests, we are also praying for the following:

  1. Safety as we travel (our van is doing great)

  2. For our schedule to fill with new church meetings

  3. For our support to continue to increase

Praise: We praise the Lord that we now have 34 churches that have partnered with us in ministry.  With these churches and numerous individual supporters, we are very close to 60% of our total support.  We also are thanking the Lord for a full schedule. While we have just a few “holes” in the calendar, our schedule is very full through the first week of November.

Prayer Warriors

4/2018

“For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer,

and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,”

~ Philippians 1:19

A question that we receive frequently is “how can we pray for you?”  We appreciate so much the prayers of brothers and sister in Christ.  I have written in my Bible, “We travel the world on our knees when we pray for missionaries.” We know that prayer is the reason we have experienced such a blessed deputation.  In studying the topic of prayer I observe the following prayer requests for missions in the Bible:

1. A Providential “Open Door” to preach the Gospel - Col. 4:2-3; 2 Cor. 2:12

2. Perseverance to preach the Gospel in challenging situations – Eph. 6:19-20; Acts 17

3. Protection from “unreasonable and wicked men” - 2 Thess. 3:2

4. Purity in a world of temptation - 2 Timothy 4:10; Ephesians 6:10-18

5. Propagation of the Scriptures and the Gospel - 2 Thess. 3:1; Acts 12:24; 19:20

6. Peace with other believers – Colossians 3:12-14; Romans 12:18; Acts 15:1-3

7. Provision, that God will meet every need – Philippians 4:18-19

8. Patience to have God’s perspective in the midst of trials - 2 Cor. 4:8-9; Acts 16:25

These are just a sampling of the many ways that missionaries can be prayed for. At this time in our life, we are asking our prayer warriors to pray for these three specific requests:

  1. Safety as we travel (our van is doing great!)

  2. For our schedule to fill with new church meetings

  3. For our support to continue to increase (currently 55%)

Report: We praise the Lord that we were able to be with our church family for Easter Sunday. In addition, we were in five other churches in April – all in Ohio. We had the wonderful opportunity to preach our very first missions conference at Cleveland Baptist Church.  I praise the Lord for these opportunities to preach!

March Update

3/2018

We had the wonderful opportunity to be in five missions conferences in March.  We began the month finishing up a seven-day missions conference in Miami Florida at First Baptist Church, Westwood Lake. We traveled back to Ohio and had the privilege to preach for one of our faithful supporting churches, Westlake Baptist Church for a missions-emphasis Sunday. What a great joy it was to then be in our home church, Mount Vernon Baptist Temple for their missions conference.  We then traveled to Franklin Park New Jersey for a five-day missions conference at Kendall Park Baptist church, and then a missions-emphasis Sunday at Kingsway Baptist church in Mickleton New Jersey. We praise the Lord to have the opportunity to present not only our family but also WorldView Ministries.

In addition to missions conferences, Amy and I were given some other opportunities to speak.  I was able to speak at a couples banquet at Lighthouse Baptist church in Akron Ohio, as well as a mens prayer breakfast at Loudonville Baptist Temple. Amy had the opportunity to speak at a ladies meeting at Kingsway Baptist church as well as the opportunity to share her testimony at Kendall Park Baptist in New Jersey.

Prayer Requests: We praise the Lord for three new churches taking our family on for support. We currently have thirty-three churches partnering with us!

Prayer Requests:

For Scripture translation to the unreached (translators on the field)

That our 2018 calendar will fill with meetings (we are scheduled through May)

Deputation Details – Road Trip

2/2018

We have just returned from our first official road trip while on deputation.  We spent the entire month of February in south Florida. After 30 days, 4,000 miles, six churches, two mission’s conferences, 15 gas stations, and numerous fast-food restaurants, we are officially back in Ohio.  The day we left, Ohio had seven inches of snow. Upon returning to Ohio, the grass is green!

Our first meeting in Florida was at Grace Baptist Church in Pensacola.  We were able to take advantage of the time there and see our two oldest boys at Pensacola Christian College.  It was a tremendous blessing to spend time with Bill and Drew.  Though they both are extremely busy, they were able to find some time to hang out with us (mostly around food J).

After a week in Pensacola, we headed to Delray Beach Florida where we were able to be with Pastor Mike McClure at West Park Baptist Church.  When I was in college, I had the privilege to work for Pastor McClure for a summer at their day camp.  It was a tremendous opportunity and I so enjoyed catching up with him again.

After a Wednesday meeting with Grace Baptist in Miami, we traveled across the state to Naples Florida and Cornerstone Baptist Church.  We then headed to Lake Okeechobee for a missions emphasis Sunday with New Testament Baptist Church. Our last week in Florida was spent at First Baptist Church for a seven day mission’s conference in Miami!

Praise:

We praise the Lord for safety and for meeting every need while we were away for the month of February!

Prayer Requests:

- For Scripture translation to the unreached (translators on the field)

- That our 2018 calendar will fill with meetings (we are scheduled through May)

Deputation Details – Year Summary

1/2018

The end of 2017 brings us to the conclusion of one full year of deputation. We were blessed to have a busy year. The Lord allowed us to be in seventy-eight churches. Because the majority of these churches were in Ohio, we only put 15,036 miles on our vehicle.  We praise the Lord that we did not have to cancel any meetings because of illness or inclement weather.

We also praise the Lord that we saw sixteen new churches take us on for support in 2017.  We now have a total of twenty eight supporting churches as well as numerous individual supporters. We feel extremely blessed to be at fifty percent of our support after only sixteen months of deputation.  What a blessing to partner with so many wonderful missions-minded churches.

January has kept us busy. We have been in two missions conferences. One of those missions conferences brought us to Lake Odessa, Michigan (our first meeting north of the Ohio border).  I also had the great opportunity to attend the Mount Abiram Mission International in Fort Worth Texas. In addition, I had the privilege to preach at the Westlake Baptist Church winter youth rally in Cleveland.

Praise: Because of the miles that we were putting on our mini van (178,000 total miles), we were recently able to purchase a new vehicle. After much prayer, we felt a tremendous peace in purchasing a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan with only 39,000 miles. In between meetings I flew to Fayette, North Carolina, picked up the van, and drove it back to Mount Vernon, Ohio. We still have our 2002 Ford Windstar, but the new vehicle is such a blessing.

Prayer Requests: We will spend the entire month of February in Florida as we will be in two missions conferences and six church meetings. This is our first time officially away from home while on deputation. Please pray for safety as we travel and for the boys as they will “home school” while we travel.

- For Scripture translation to the unreached (translators on the field)

- That our 2018 calendar will fill with meetings

Twenty-One Verse Salute

11/2017

The Thanksgiving holiday reminds us of the many blessings that the Lord bestows upon us every month of the year.  One of the very first Psalms in the Bible is found in the book of Exodus.  In Exodus 15:1-21 we find a twenty-one verse song written in honor of God’s protection in parting the Red Sea for the Children of Israel.  Our family has many reasons to Praise the Lord in our first year of deputation.
